09:40 pm sometimes, i really wish certain people could read my mind.
today i found out that regardless of what i've been thinking, maybe we are actually on the same page. it was one of those times where you've been thinking one thing, and are like "no way is the other person feeling the same way as me..." but they really are. i need to remind myself of that more often, that maybe things aren't as "bad" (for lack of a better word) as i think they are. now i have to figure out where to go from here... 05:45 pm - something like a new years resolution? There’s three ways out of every box Fall out the bottom Or you crawl out the top There’s three ways Out of every, every box But if you can’t find your way out Then you just burn it To the ground Then you’ll disappear Like smoke Into the clouds
There’s three ways off a merry-go-round You either jump Or you let it slow down There’s three ways Off a merry-go, merry-go round But if you can’t put your foot down Then you just burn it To the ground Then you walk away Real slow Back into the crowd
There’s always somebody there for a laugh Then you’re the only one That’s left Now that’s what you get Left behind in the wreck
There’s three ways off a burning bridge You pray for rain Or you learn how to swim There’s three ways off of every Burning bridge But if you can’t find strength And you quit Then you can just burn up And sink Then you’ll drift away Real slow Down into the ground Current Music: Three Ways- The Wallflowers

09:56 pm I've been out walking I don't do too much talking These days, these days. These days I seem to think a lot About the things that I forgot to do And all the times I had the chance to.
I've stopped my rambling, I don't do too much gambling These days, these days. These days I seem to think about How all the changes came about my ways And I wonder if I'll see another highway.
I had a lover, I don't think I'll risk another These days, these days. And if I seem to be afraid To live the life that I have made in song It's just that I've been losing so long. La la la la la, la la.
I've stopped my dreaming, I won't do too much scheming These days, these days. These days I sit on corner stones And count the time in quarter tones to ten. Please don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them. Current Mood: & a little jealous Current Music: These Days -Nico

08:43 am - London! Tues. July 18th The day we arrived in London! Basically just got settled at the B&B Belgravia and went out to dinner. Walked around for a bit.
Wed. July 19th Took "The Big Bus Tours" yeah touristy but it gave us a good overview of the city. Later on went to The Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. This was one of the dumbest things ever. Went out to dinner afterwards at The Liberty Hounds pub. (The waiter brought us limes instead of lemons for our fish and chips?)
Thurs. July 20th Victoria and Albert art museum, which was actually pretty cool. Natural History and Science museums were not. Harrod's!! was really fun and I bought a pretty skirt, but the people were kinda snobby. We walked down Knightsbridge and at dinner at Pizza on the Park. Picadilly Circus at night.
Fri. July 21st Tower of London and saw a family that was there for the Ceremony of the Keys two nights ago. We got to see the Crown Jewels which was really cool. Took an official London cab to the London Eye which was this HUGE ferris wheel. From the top you could see all of London. I think it was between 250-300 ft?? Had lunch nearby then went through the Waterloo Station to Oxford Street for more shopping! Katie and I ran into Mom Dad and Suzanne at Carnaby St so we shopped there as well. Some guy heard our family talking and ran by us yelling "could you phone home to Bush and tell him to stop killing children??" And we were just like...wtf. Had dinner at O'Neil's Pub where our waiter was French and reminded me of Johnny Depp. Hot.
Sat. July 22nd Mom went to TKTS early in the morning to get tickets for "The Producers." Went to the Starbucks in Leicester Square and we saw Jim Carrey and Sean Connery’s hand prints in cement on the street. Went to the National Gallery which was okay but they had air conditioning which was amazing. But it also rained today which made it a little cooler. St. Martin in the Fields church and ate lunch in the Café in the Crypts…a little morbid… Got to listen to the dress rehearsal of a chamber group playing that night at the church. Called the Belmont Ensemble and there was an amazing soprano soloist. Walked to the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms. Mom, Katie and I took a cab back to the B&B to change then met Suzanne and Dad for dinner at the Covent Garden Kitchen. Saw “The Producers” which was pretty good but really politically incorrect…but hey, its Mel Brooks. What were we expecting? It was mad hot in the theater though.
Sun. July 23rd I’m pretty sure this was the morning where I could’ve sworn I saw Orlando Bloom walking down the street outside of our B&B. I swear. Took a train from Waterloo to Hampton Court and stayed until 5. Almost lost my Dad. Tubed it to Leicester Square where we bought tickets for Pirates and had dinner at Maharajah of India then saw the movie. (Again, for me. But it was still awesome). Probably one of my favorite days of the trip.
Mon. July 24th British Museum, which was kind of boring and really hot. We saw the Rosetta Stone which was cool. Went to The Plough for lunch then went to St. Paul’s cathedral. Katie and I got yelled at for playing cards here…but we did get to climb to the top of the tower where again, you could see the entire city. 300 something ft. in the air. Walked across the Millennium Footbridge and had dinner at Pizza Express which was an awesome restaurant. Their tiramisu was reeallyyy good. Went to Shakespeare’s Globe Theater (well, not the original one, obviously) and saw “A Comedy of Errors.”
Tues. July 25th Finally got a chance to stop at that Red Cross/ Secondhand store across the street from our B&B. I bought a british version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. There are all these notes to JK Rowling in the back written by british kids its so cute. Went to Buckingham Palace where we attempted to see the changing of the guard but it was much too crowded. We got to see the royal marching band? If you could call it that… Tubed it home-- err, to Victoria Station. I got separated from my family! Yikes but I just walked back to the B&B by myself. My mom came back to see if I was there and then called my dad to tell him that’s where I was. Once we were all back together, we took a train for Heathrow Airport. L Longest security lines ever and a huge school group or something. So we BOOKED it to the gate, which, btw was the farthest from security. We were out of breath from sprinting by the time we got there, then they decide to do a random bag check on my bags! “could you please take a sip of this, miss?” They thought I had put something in my own water gahh damn them. Then we waited two hours on the runway while the engineers worked on something on the plane. Irony of all ironies. But we flew Virgin Atlantic which was really awesome. There were like 50 movies and tv shows/ games you could play. So I watched like two movies and a couple of episodes of The Office. Took a bus from JFK to New Haven (about 2.5 hrs) then drove home (about 45 min.). Went to bed at about 4.30 am (which was actually Wed. I guess) and woke up at 2.30 pm. Yay for sleep!
but I miss it there...CT is so boring. Current Location: Home Current Mood: nostalgic Current Music: Radiohead-The Bends

08:06 pm - secrets and lies Why is it that I end up hurt again. After a long time, you'd think that certain people would put you first, but when they don't, it really hurts. And I mean really hurts. Backstabbing and all that shit is one of the worst things. And when its done by the same person that just recently caused a lot of hurt in your life before, I guess you need to reconsider some things.
Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...
But despite all the horrible things that were said, I really miss camp. Badly. Maybe I could just forget about the mean stuff and focus on the good? Current Mood: rethinking some things

06:48 pm - is it summer? Wow its June 26 already. I'm so glad that its finally summer but it still doesn't feel like it. Right now theres six days until camp, and counting....
I went to Woodledge with Katie, Tash, and Keri last week and that was loads of fun. Note to self: Water balloons make excellent ice breakers.
A few days later I went to Minnechaug (or however you spell that) with Katie and Keri again lol and saw Alli there. We then proceeded to help her ditch her swim meet. Oops.
Tennis started today but it rained on and off so we all just left early. This is such a boring entry and I really have nothing good to write about (except that the party yesterday was super fun) and the cousins are over so I'm going to stop now.
ps: Diego Luna is a cutie. Current Mood: cheerful Current Music: Franz Ferdinand

06:34 pm - somebody please answer me this... So I must say I've been wondering this for quite awhile:
Do British kids walk on the left side of the hallway?
I know of a British kid who goes to our school...he always walks in the middle of the hallway and I think hes just as confused as I am about this whole issue. Maybe moreso for him if he doesn't know hes supposed to be on the right side... Current Mood: contemplative Current Music: The World at Large- Modest Mouse
